MLK Streets Progress With Virtual Interns Help

SuperInterns.com and Beloved Streets of America are taking the nation's MLK streets by storm, one block at a time.

There is some positive news for the streets and neighborhoods that hold the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. name. Beloved Streets of America and SuperInterns.com have come together to form an influential collaboration. The Dynamic Duo has created a powerful alliance to give back to the community at large by changing the image of present-day MLK streets nationwide.

The story began when Social Media Specialist Eileen Yu posted a video of the sorry state of MLK streets in America on Facebook. Later that day, the CNN video was seen by Super Julie Braun, CEO and Founder of SuperInterns.com. After seeing the dismal condition of MLK streets all across the nation, the heartfelt cry for help was heard. Within an hour of viewing the video, Braun connected with Melvin White (CEO and Founder of Beloved Streets of America), who was featured in the video.

Beloved Streets of America is a 501c3 Nonprofit Organization that was founded by White in 2004 in Saint Louis, Missouri. The organization's primary aim is to "restore and improve MLK-named streets all over America." Revitalization has captured the hearts of many who cherish Martin Luther King's legacy and understand BSA's mission. BSA was first inspired when White saw deserted buildings and crime in the depressed neighborhoods along Martin Luther King Blvd.

"The partnership with Beloved Streets of America and SuperInterns.com is going to be a game changer!" exclaimed White.

BSA has been developing and advancing streets that exhibit the MLK name, one block at a time. Environmental and social unity are the aim of this ongoing project by providing revitalized MLK streets, community gardens, solar-powered commercial and residential development, local job creation through both development and commerce, and driving business to the areas and streets that behold the legendary name.

"We are thrilled to be working with Beloved Streets of America and to be able to help contribute towards restoring the streets named after Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. across the country," stated Braun. "We believe this work will help millions of people by stimulating new jobs, rejuvenate social engagement, and make positive community change."

The partnership became official in March 2016 when SuperInterns.com made a generous $20,000 Enterprise Program donation to BSA. Through this donation, they will provide all systems, processes, construction/maintenance of their online office and provide endless human resources for a year. This virtual assistance will enhance MLK streets concept more efficiently.

SuperInterns.com is a company that works with three different clients:

  • Businesses and For-Purpose Organizations (AKA Non-Profit Organizations) in which those companies or organizations are provided with systems, processes, and the people to help them create or grow their company or organization.
  • Career Seekers who need career guidance by either improving their current career situation or starting on a new path.
  • Virtual Interns who wish to get their foot in the door of the professional world and gain the necessary experience they need when they start their own careers.

"This will give us the perfect national presence needed for this project," said White. "We at BSA are very excited to have this partnership because it will help take us to the next level."

"SuperInterns.com is a very philanthropic company," added Braun. "Every year, we donate to deserving For-Purpose Organizations and this year, we've chosen Beloved Streets of America."
